❤️ Stance
When going into a session, try to take an open, curious, compassionate stance towards yourself. Observe yourself like a mother would a child or a friend to a friend. Get genuinely interested in “what’s here” for you.
🌀 Stages
- Ground
- Take some deep breaths. Notice the room around you. Ground your awareness in the present and access spaciousness if possible.
- Share
- Let Thyself know what topic is coming up for you.
- Explore
- Allow Thyself to guide you through a process of inner exploration that involves being with your somatic sensations and having a dialogue with your parts.
- Process and Feel
- What is the sensation or part trying to say? What emotion, story, or belief is it holding?
- Allow yourself to feel the emotions present to the best of your ability.
- Tip: If you are feeling stuck in resistance to your emotions, you can try "Can I accept that I’m resisting these emotions?" and just sit purely with the feeling of resistance.
- Return to the whole
- After spending some time processing, return your focus to your overall state of being. Notice any changes in your thoughts, emotions, or bodily sensations.
- Integrate and Reflect
- Reflect on the experience. What did you notice? Did any insights arise? How do you feel now compared to when you started?
☝️ Tips
- You're in Charge!
- Steer the session in any way you want. Don't like the direction it's going? Change it! This is your session!
- Take sips
- Sometimes a sensation or emotion can be very intense. You don’t need to feel it all at once. Gently "zoom in" on the sensation in your awareness. If it feels too overwhelming, bring your awareness to a more comfortable spot or something outside your body.
- Ask Thyself
- If you get stuck on anything at any time, ask Thyself!
